eConsult acquired by Huma to accelerate digital first care

eConsult  | 3rd October 2024

eTriage was launched over 5 years ago in South East London. It was built by clinicians, for clinicians to improve safety and flow in Urgent & Emergency Care waiting rooms. We’ve since expanded to 14 other NHS sites and digitally triaged over 1 million patients in this setting.

We are excited to share that eConsult has been acquired by Huma Therapeutics, a global digital health company that provides digital-first care delivery and remote patient monitoring solutions.

Huma’s technology supports ‘hospitals at home’  and virtual wards, and has been pivotal in enhancing clinical capacity and improving patient outcomes across the UK. For example, Huma’s GDm-Health program, the world’s first digital program for diabetes in pregnancy, has been rolled out in over 64 NHS Trusts across the UK.

This is good news for us and our customers:

  • As the latest acquisition by Huma’s Healthcare arm, eConsult’s expertise in digital triage will be underpinned by Huma’s global partnerships, AI capabilities and the Huma Cloud platform which is designed to enable healthcare providers to access an array of digital health solutions.
  • Huma’s extensive expertise in remote patient monitoring will allow us to progress vital sign measurement explorations to supplement eTriage’s interface.
  • Huma has a global footprint with ambitions to shake up the digital health ecosystem.

The eTriage team are sticking around and we are confident that this acquisition offers an opportunity to step change our offering for our NHS customers and accelerate the shift to digital first healthcare.
