4 ‘patient education’ steps that actually work

  • Practice website – Make sure when users go to your practice website they can access eConsult easily. Top Tip – look at your website in your smartphone. Is it easy to navigate?
  • Staff training – Does everyone in your practice know what eConsult is, how a patient would access it, and how to use it? Top Tip – get everyone in the practice to submit one eConsult using the name ‘Mickey Mouse’ – if your staff know how to use it, they can explain to patients. 
  • Text Messaging – Send a message to all your patients with a link of where to eConsult, or choose a demographic that would benefit from eConsult immediately and message them.
  • Answerphone – Patients will phone in and will have to wait in a phone queue, let them know they could send in their request immediately if they go online.
