Dr Murray Ellender, FRCGP, MRCEM

CEO

Murray is a co-founder of eConsult and has been CEO since 2015. Prior to that, he worked full time as a GP Partner in the Hurley Group, one of the first NHS super-partnerships. He has been a doctor for 21 years and continues to practice part-time as a GP in South East London. He is also a mentor on the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme.

Dr Aravinth Balachandran,
MRCGP, BSC

Chief Medical Officer

Aravinth has been a qualified GP since 2008 and is a Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at eConsult. He currently oversees ongoing clinical content development and clinical governance across all our products. Aravinth has gained significant transformation and leadership experience within Primary Care. He is currently a GP Partner at Oaklands Health Centre in Hythe since 2014 and established the Folkestone, Hythe and Rural Primary Care Network as Clinical Director which he has continued to lead on for the past 3 years.

Dr Mark Harmon, MBBS, BSc (Hons)

Chief Strategy and Brand Officer

Mark qualified from King’s College School of Medicine in 2014 and has since worked in a wide range of Specialties across Primary and Secondary care. Prior to studying medicine, Mark held some senior strategic and brand executive positions in some of the world’s leading blue chip companies, such as Nike, Speedo, The Arcadia Group and Marks and Spencer plc. Mark joined eConsult in 2016.

Georgie Johnson

Chief Operating Officer

Georgie studied Physiological Sciences at the University of Oxford. With this background in medical research, she focused on global pharmaceutical launch excellence as a management consultant. Georgie transitioned into health tech, leading the development of a diabetes wearable, then joined the eConsult team in 2017.

Dr Chris Whittle, MBChB, BSc (Hons)

Chief Innovation Officer

Chris started his career in healthcare at the University of Edinburgh, where he studied for both his medical degree and BSc in Neuroscience. In 2015, while working full-time in anaesthetics within the Wessex area, Chris joined the NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur programme and founded Q doctor, going on to set precedents in video consulting nationwide across health and social care.

In 2021 Q doctor joined the eConsult family, where Chris now sits on the senior management team supporting innovation. Chris is also an Honorary Lecturer in Digital Health at School of Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire.

Alex Tzukerman

Chief Product Officer

Alex is a user-centric product leader with over 15 years’ blue-chip experience, across engineering, management consulting, general management and product. He’s headed up teams at Intel, Paddy Power Betfair and Kearney, and led the launch and scaling of the online marketplace Pollen. Alex holds a BSc from Israel's leading engineering institute Technion as well as London Business School MBA.

Rex Cooper

Chief Technology Officer

A Chartered Manager and Electrical Engineer specialising in Health Tech. Rex builds bridges between Business and Technology and aligns empowered Engineering Teams to the Company Strategy.

Jane Hurst

Chief Financial Officer

Jane spent 21 years at KPMG before joining eConsult, 7 years as a partner. During her time there she worked across the public and private sectors supporting organisations to improve their financial position and develop a route to growth. Whilst at KPMG she led a team focusing on the NHS and worked with trusts, CCGs and the regulator. Jane joined eConsult in 2022. Jane is a keen sailor and skier and mum to two boys.

Adrian Chamberlain

Chairman

Adrian is an experienced CEO specialising in telecomms and technology. Previously Chief Executive of Achilles, a world leader in cloud based supply chain management, he successfully led the company to a refinancing in 2015, before being appointed Executive Chairman of eConsult.

Dr Tim Ringrose, MRCP, MBBCh

Non-Executive Director

Tim Ringrose trained in nephrology and intensive care in Oxford before joining Doctors.net.uk, the UK online doctor community, as start up in 2000. Tim has led the development of a wide range of digital services provided to doctors and has had considerable experience working with a wide variety of healthcare clients to deliver insights into doctors’ behaviour, online educational programmes and effective digital engagement tools. Tim is currently CEO of Cognitant.

Henry Alty

Non-Executive Director

Henry joined the Board in October 2020 following the investment from Gresham House Ventures. Henry focuses on growth capital investments into software and service businesses in the financial and professional services sectors.

Junaid Bajwa

Non-Executive Director

Junaid is the Chief Medical Scientist at Microsoft Research and a practising physician in the NHS. Junaid has worked across primary care, secondary care, and public health settings in addition to acting as a payer, and policymaker within the UK, where he specialized in informatics, digital transformation, and leadership. He has consulted for health care systems across the US, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Singapore, and Europe. Academically, he is a Clinical Associate Professor at UCL (University College London), and Visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr Ben Shankland

GP and Partner, Hurley Group, leading on HR and operations. GP educator, training future generation of GPs

Simon Drane

Non-Executive Director

Simon joined the Board in March 2021 following the investment by Gresham House Ventures. Simon focuses on driving growth in Private Equity backed businesses and is also Chairman of Patchworks, a fast growth PE backed eCommerce business, and an Operating Partner in the growth team for Hg Capital, the largest PE technology investor in Europe with $40bn of funds under management.

Dr Arvind Madan, MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG

Non-Executive Director

Arvind is an experienced GP, co-founder of eConsult and Hurley Group Partner. He advises companies including eConsult, Deloitte, Primary Health Properties and Pfizer, but also retains his role as a frontline clinician in both general practice and urgent care. From 2015 to 2018 he was the National Deputy Medical Director and Director of Primary Care for NHS England and helped shape and implement national policy.
